79 Etappe | Lake Okaro --> Taupo 93 Km

Axel ist heute mal wieder früh aufgestanden, um sich am See zu duschen | Pech gehabt, weil schon die Angler unterwegs waren | so machten wir uns zeitig los, mit den "Huka Falls" als Ziel | die Wasserfälle sehen unglaublich schön aus, eisblau und schneeweiß | der dazugehörige Fluss "Waikato" erzeugt 15% des neuseeländischen Stroms | die Wasserfälle pumpen pro Sekunde 200 000 Liter Wasser durch, ein grandioses Schauspiel | anschließend besuchten wir noch die "Craters of moon", eine Vulkan-Krater-Landschaft | diese sind erst in den letzten Jahren durch den Bau eines Thermalkraftwerkes entstanden | die Landschaft war wild bewachsen von Farnen und Moos, dazwischen gelbe und rote Ablagerungen von Schwefel und vulkanischen Auswurf | wir waren sehr beeindruckt, vor allem vom günstigen Eintrittspreis | bevor wir den kostenlosen Zeltplatz am Lake Taupo ansteuern, machen wir noch einen Abstecher bei einer Imkerei | kosten zahlreiche Honigsorten und essen Honigeis | zum Abendessen gibt es endlich Karin's heiß ersehntes Hühnchen (verzehrfertig) vom Supermarkt | am Zeltplatz ist viel los, aber für umsonst super
